Drifter is an 10-year-old Arabian gelding.  He came to the sanctuary after his owner abandoned him with a lady that was trying to earn extra cash by leasing out her pasture.  The woman was not knowledgeable of horses and chased the young horse when she tried to catch it.  When Drifter arrived at the sanctuary, he was very wary of humans with lead ropes.  He has made daily progress in learning to trust again since arriving at the sanctuary.  We are now able to place a lead and halter on Drifter with no problem.  We were told that Drifter had been ridden before but we are taking it slowly with him.

At this time, he is available for placement but special consideration will be taken for his training needs when placing him in a new home.

Drifter is a sweet, playful horse that is always starting games and races with the other horses and is a delight to watch!
