This beautiful young horse with the Roman nose was seized from a woman by the Lincoln County Animal Control.  He was pathetically skinny and a terrible stench came from the puss filled wounds on his face.  His owner was charge for animal cruelty.  She fought the charge but overwhelming evidence prevailed.

It is customary to allow horses to choose their new names when they arrive at the sanctuary.  A list is presented to them and the names are slowly read off.  Horses indicate their choice with a nod, licking and chewing, or with a touch of their delicate muzzles.  This young horse that had been through so much in his short life chose the name Justice.

Justice has fully recovered is awaiting a new home.  He is extremely well-behaved and has a sweet disposition.
