For as little as $20 a month or more, you can sponsor a horse at HPS.  It costs about $250 per month to feed and care for a horse at the sanctuary.  Sponsors receive a newsletter every month, and may visit their horse Saturdays between 1:00 pm and 4:00 pm!  Become a sponsor!

Join our Training Program

The purpose of the HPS riding & training program is to get the horses back into condition before going to new homes, to give them any additional training they may need, to help them overcome their fears of being ridden, and to learn about the horses' abilities & personalities so they can be matched with an appropriate home.

Community Outreach & events

Community Outreach & events

After visiting the sanctuary, many people decide to join in our mission to rescue and rehabilitate abused, abandoned, sick, and neglected horses.

As a member, you are welcome to visit the sanctuary anytime during daylight hours regardless of how much knowledge you may or may not have about horses.  Our slogan is "Hearts, Hands, Helping Horses" and many hearts and hands are needed to accomplish our mission.

You will also receive a monthly newsletter.  And, if you wish, we will add your name to our email list and notify you of projects underway at the ranch and may ask if it is okay to contact you when we need help.  See the membership form below!

Community Outreach & events

At HPS we take a proactive approach in expanding the knowledge of both current and potential horse owners.  We believe that we can help prevent horses from becoming unwanted in the first place rather than having to find solutions after they've been discarded.

Our public outreach programs may include appearances at local fairs, participation at regional equine expos, programs for youth groups such as 4H clubs, and children's camps here at the sanctuary.  Become a member, follow us on Facebook, and read our newsletter to keep up to date on future events!
